Who am I?

Hi! My name is Kevin. I have been in the forensic toxicology business for over 14 years.

I'm currently employed as a Forensic Toxicologist by Axis Forensic Toxicology in Indianapolis, Indiana. I have extensive experience in research and analytical method development, laboratory supervision and management, toxicology case review, toxicology results interpretation, and toxicology and chemistry education. Areas of expertise include liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC/MS), the analytical detection and toxicology of new psychoactive substances (NPS) such as substituted cathinones, synthetic cannabinoids, NBOME hallucinogens, fentanyl analogs, and opioid research chemicals, as well as independent toxicology case review. In my current position, I oversee all method development and validation of analytical methods for NPS and other esoteric substances. I have provided fact and expert witness testimony in drug chemistry, human performance toxicology, and postmortem toxicology matters in numerous states across the USA, including California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Franklin College in Franklin, Indiana and a Master of Science in Forensic Toxicology from the University of Florida. I am certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Toxicology in forensic toxicology (D-ABFT-FT) and I hold regular membership with the Society of Forensic Toxicologists (SOFT), where I am a member of SOFT’s Young Forensic Toxicologist committee and SOFT’s Designer Drugs committee. I have published papers on new psychoactive substances in journals such as the Journal of Analytical Toxicology (JAT) and Forensic Science International (FSI) and presented research at national meetings such as the SOFT annual conference.
